We had a wonderful time visiting Acadia National Park!! One of the highlights was riding our Acadia Cruisers, named after the park right in Acadia!! We’ve had these bikes for over 10 years purchased at LLBean, but you know life & kids happened so we hadn’t visited for a very long time!! I think my son was just a baby, he’s now 14 years old, & my daughter 11 🙂
Hadley Brook Loop
It was such a beautiful experience!! We chose to do the Hadlock Brook loop path on the Carriage Roads!! We loved the bridges made of rock, the gorgeous landscape, & before we ended the loop, we encountered a beautiful waterfall!! So Gorgeous!! I will be posting a video of that soon!!
Bicycle & Helpful info
Here are some helpful items for your bike trip; some types of ebikes are prohibited at Acadia National Park, so be aware but pedal assist eBikes are acceptible up to 20mph!
According to nps.gov
All three classes of e-bikes continue to be allowed where motor vehicles are allowed in Acadia National Park:
Class 1 e-bikes are equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, and that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 mph.
Class 2 e-bikes are electric bicycles equipped with a motor that may be used exclusively to propel the bicycle, and that is not capable of providing assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 mph. Class 2 e-bikes continue to be prohibited on the carriage roads and Schoodic bike paths because they can be powered by a throttle that does not require the rider to pedal.
Class 3 e-bikes are electric bicycles equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, and that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 28 mph. Class 3 e-bikes continue to be prohibited on the carriage roads and Schoodic bike paths because of heightened safety risks in the context of a gravel surface shared by high concentrations of slower-moving pedestrians and equestrians, including horse-drawn carriages, traditional bicyclists, and runners and because of the potential for exceeding the speed limit.
