Woo hoo Im so excited to bring on a new year!! To start it off we had our First Ski trip of the 2024 year, & what a fun time we had too!! Do you like skiing? Have you tried it lately? Its so fun & even better when its affordable isnt it?? On this post, I’ll share some fun stuff about a new mountain we tried!!
Have you been to Pleasant Mountain in Maine?? Pleasant Mountain, formerly known as Shawnee Peak in Bridgton, is a really fun & truly pleasant mountain!! lol!! On Most Mondays starting January 1st they offer their Monday night Madness special from 3:30-9pm. Lift tickets costing $24!! Isnt that nice??

Isn’t it such a beautiful mountain? It looks so pretty lit up 🙂
Unfortunately, skiing conditions were not ideal when we went due to the lack of snow and lots of rain in previous weeks!! As you can see in the pictures 🙂
However, if you are an avid skiier, its still very fun because they make snow, so on the day we went it was really neat to experience!! My advice though is if you are a beginner, its best to wait until conditions are better to try skiing on this type of terrain!! however its still very fun to hang out at the Lodge!! So if you’re beginner and are with others that have more experience its ok to just hang out in the lodge & take advantage of the Wi-Fi!! 🙂 or read a book, play cards and or socialize!!!
I still loved the evening, i was abit nervous i have to be honest to say, but i made it down the mountain several times… hey who cares if you have to use the pizza technique all the way down!! lol!! Because It was very icy at the top!! My son & his friend flew down the mountain though & loved it!!
We truly had a great time, we had a group of almost 30 friends & no accidents that i know of.. yay!! & the Mountain itself was beautiful, and lite up very nicely!! Pleasant Mountain is known for its night skiing and it didn’t dissapoint, three of the 6 lifts were open and 8 trails! hey pretty good for artificial snow!! So maybe when you go, the conditions will be much better!! We do have snow in the forecast this weekend!!
There are so many benefits to getting outside & getting fresh air & the best part is, you can do it with friends!! So why not get out and enjoy skiing 🙂
So Pleasant Mountain gets a thumbs up from me!! Cant wait to go again!!
Just as a side note, bring snacks and lunch if youre able 🙂 Food prices at the lodge are always more expensive and may not be that appetizing, my friends were disappointed by the cold fries!! lol!! not good.. lol!

however I love Facebook Market place to find used ski gear at amazing prices!! Just research the size you need and when you find some for you, get them tuned at a ski shop!! I got my entire set, boots, ski’s and poles for $50 dollars & they are pretty cute! Ill post sometime!! Of course you would need to buy a helmet & goggles 🙂
