Cancun Anniversary

On this trip we loved everything because we were celebrating 25 years of love; it was our romantic getaway in Cancun!!

I have to start by saying I love Cancun Mexico!! Have you taken a romantic getaway to Cancun before?? I think you’ll love so many things about it, the sweet and hospitable people & service, the food, the beautiful excursions and the beaches!! 

It’s been 25 years since we’ve been back.. our first time being our honeymoon, and this time around I found myself  falling in love with it all over again.. & loved spending time with the hubby & loved the baby Sea turtles too!! Our hotel, which was Secrets The Vine was pretty amazing, I loved all the amenities and attention to details from the staff !! They made us feel special!! Muchas Gracias!!

Here’s an idea of what the hotel was like, it was all inclusive hotel, so the food and drinks were included.. nine restaurant options are featured here.. it was an adult only, and was a great place for a romantic getaway!! I will be writing another post about other features and things we enjoyed about this hotel.. and maybe a helpful tip or two about this particular hotel!!  

Shopping

We decided to spend a day visiting playa Tortuga and shopping at the markets!! Our first stop was The flea market called Corral Negro, it is home to a lot of trinkets but beware of all the upselling you’ll find there & horrible hounding!! It’s quite terrible when you’re the only ones there, so that wasn’t fun!! However, We found a store where the prices  are listed and enjoyed shopping here, it was called,  Mexican Outlet Plaza la Fiesta!! 

 

Our Excursion

 

We found a tour thru TripAdvisor to Isla Mujeres that included a snorkeling tour and lunch Buffet! We Loved it!!

 It was the least expensive tour but it did not Include dock fee so if came out to about the same price as others in the area!! We totally didn’t mind that and actually we really enjoyed our excursion!!  Our trip also wasn’t within the hotel district so it wasnt busy and we really loved our drive & tour Guide Pancho! This tour departed from the port of Juarez which is not as busy as the other ports either which was another bonus!! We took an Uber to get there and thought we were heading in the wrong direction, at first but found out this is an up and coming second hotela area, or area being developed for more hotels!! According to our Uber driver!! (he seemed very knowledgeable)

Another surprise was that Instead of the typical 30+ people on the Catamaran,  there were only 6 of us and the crew…which was amazing!! We had more of a private snorkel tour, & more food to eat at the buffet that was included once we got to Isla Mujeres!! The food was delicious even though I wasn’t hungry because it was so hot!! We also thought the Ice Bar was a great experience too, mostly because we could get relief from the heat and humidity!!
