Have you been to Cancun?? Im so excited to share this post with you all, Cancun is such a beautiful place!! There are so many hotels there, there are many all inclusive to choose from as well…today come with me to the Secrets The Vine -all inclusive luxury Hotel!! I’m just going to say that we love experiencing new places & we normally save or do budget friendly road trips however this was a special treat for a very special anniversary!! So come with me as we explore the Secrets The Vine Cancun!!
We always love seeing our friends travel to all kinds of countries and visit so many places & we are happy for them!! We are not ones to normally splurge on lavish vacations until this trip & after this trip I ask myself why we havent done something like this sooner!! Lol!! So I’m going to say it’s ok to splurge once in a while especially if you’re celebrating something special like we did, our 25th Anniversary!! Yee haw!!
Secrets the Vine Hotel
Secrets the Vine Hotel is an all inclusive adults only hotel, contemporary resort located at the hotelera district of Cancun!!
It’s know for its specialty wine but on this trip we didn’t really indulge in their selection of their wines!! We enjoyed the wine we enjoyed on our arrival.. what another sweet detail!!
Our contemporary room included a private balcony overlooking the ocean, 24 hour room service, refreshed daily mini bar, & the Hotel included six gourmet restaurants, and 6 modern bars!! We enjoyed some of their entertainment, my husband loved the violin player and the show in one of their lounges!! I loved dancing to spanish music on their lounge stage!! I might be on youtube somewhere.. lol!! hahahaha!!
What we loved
We loved the service provided by the waitstaff, pool and bar staff, it was truly exceptional service!! We had a surprise anniversary dessert when the waiter heard we were on our anniversary trip!! He brought over a special dessert with flames and all, It was so sweet!!
Secrets the vine Cancun is a wonderful resort to spend a romantic time with your loved one, its not loud its a place to relax, we enjoy being catered too, indulging in fine dining and enjoying the beach and hot weather!!
Food
My husband loved the breakfast, lunch buffet and The Marketplace!! They also offered a lovely Mexican dinner restaurant as well in the evenings!! Yummy!!
Beach
Loved how the beach was just outside our hotel, complete with walk up bar and food and drink service to your beach lounger with umbrella and towel included!! The beach isn’t immediately outside, we had to take the elevator down, walk down path down stairs and then another set but still, very convenient!! We enjoyed just taking in the rays of sunshine and just relaxing, i didn’t have to worry about my kids nor my son thanks to some good friends that stayed at my house!! yay!!
Turtles
Secrets, The vine Cancun is where I fell in love with marine sea turtles and their babies!! So adorable!! Cancun participated in a initiative to protect sea turtle eggs in hopes to get them to the ocean!! So cute!!
Unfortunately Cancun’s coastline was plagued by red seaweed due to temperature changes!! It’s quite a sight to see, it got better the second day after we arrived thankfully so just beware of that!! We took an excursion to Isla Mujeres go get away from the seaweed completely and it was amazing!! Most hotels raked up and some even bagged the seaweed, for the most part trucks removed the seaweed! For some people and fortunately we missed most of this, but you can imagine it was quite the task and for some a dissapointment! But my husband and i enjoyed the waves and basking in the hot sun!!
The other side of Luxury
If you’re interested in being entertained I feel this probably wasnt the most exciting place to stay at but they had a noche mexicana which was pretty neat complete with entertainment and mexican food and several food bar areas and even mescal tasting stations! yummy!! We enjoyed a violinist that was pretty amazing, and several singers during our stay..so it was a laid back experience..we did alittle dancing.. but i would have loved to have danced alittle more.. ok maybe alot more!! lol!!
Another aspect that needs improvement is the upselling after check in, so beware!! I love a good deal but if its your first time and want to take in what you have available and thinking its going to be exquisite anyway.I feel theres no need for upselling and the associates taking part in this are quite convincing by the way. so beware. also the other infinity pool you have access to is really not a great location! apparently you get an amazing or bigger room, who knows we didn’t accept because we had to make time for a breakfast presentation that could take a few hours.. no thanks!! Another bonus was a particular restaurant for lunch was accessible for upgrade!! no thanks!!
In conclusion I would recommend Secrets and plan excursions and fun things to do while visiting Cancun!! The food and restaurants are amazing 🙂 lounging and relaxing was priceless and the proximity to the beach was convenient!! Another couple visiting at the same time as us recommended Secrets Maroma and Secrets Akumal.. I think we would like to check out these locations on other trips!! so stay tuned!!
