Lobster, Love and Laughter; hiking, and Heartfelt Connections In the Pacific Northwest!!

We’ve recently returned from visiting my family and spending time with friends in Washington State!! We went from coast to coast, Boston to seattle then Portland Oregon! I’ll share some of our favorites including our first time bringing Live Lobsters from Maine to Dads Table on the west coast!! And the most wonderful part is visiting my father, and him feeling much better 🙂 This Post is about Lobster, Love and Laughter; a vacation of hiking, and Heartfelt Connections in the Pacific Northwest!!

East Coast Lobster dinnah

For the first time in my life, I traveled with what seemed like therapy pets!! Lol!! Just kidding!! Honestly I even talked and patted their heads when I picked them up from the lobster shack!! We purchased 4 lobsters to bring to the family, it’s the first time I brought any lobsters home and live lobsters at that!!

They arrived just fine & were absolutely delicious!! Yumm!! These fellas brought my family so much joy, dad was very cute with them too, real heartfelt connections were had over these Lobster!!
Sorry to all the animal lovers but for 26 years my family have asked me to bring them lobster, next time I’ll bring some for my step dad & momma 🙂  or maybe when they come up for my sons grad party they can eat them then too!! Woo hoo!! If you haven’t had Maine lobster yet you’re in for a treat!! It’s delicious 😋 My Dad and my nieces and nephews loved them too!!

Maine Lobster, Potatoes, corn on the Cobb & garlic shrimp!! With a side of garlic butter 🙂 yummy!!

Cowiche Canyon Brewery

Our first impression of this brewery was that it’s situated in an absolutely breathtaking location, the scenery was outstanding!! My husband loved his Tynamite brew, I wasn’t that impressed with the cider but the views and our burgers were worth it & so delicious!! The kids loved throwing the football and playing outside & visiting with friends too!! This is definitely a wonderful place for laughter, hanging out and making Memories and heartfelt connections, What A fun place to visit  🙂

Mexican sweet bread

If you’re visiting Washington state, visiting the Mexican bread stores is a must!! I believe oregon has them too and for sure california 🙂 Our favorites are the concha’s (shells), my daughter loves the pink cookies and I love the empanadas 🙂 and red cake like half cake balls(I don’t know what they are called)

Fiesta foods is pretty popular on this side of the country 🙂 and their bread is good but an old fashioned private bread store is pretty darn special!! So if your up to indulging alittle, you can satisfy your sweet tooth here!! lol!

Gorgeous Hike & Scenery, Brooks Memorial State Park

My next favorite part of our trip aside from visiting family and eating with friends was doing a short hike near Goldendale Washington!! It was a nice trail that took us to a meadows with wildflowers and a beautiful view of Mount Hood!! we didn’t realize it was Mount Hood until i looked it up!!  We didn’t complete the entire hike but we did what we made an out and back trail.. we saw the entrance to the Monastery Fire Trail but decided to just take the meadow trail to part of the creek trail and then back out to our car. when we got to the top of the Meadow, we got a clear view of Mt. Hood, the wildflowers were so pretty too!!

So if youre ever in Washington and near Goldendale, Washington or the Lower Valley.. stop in for Mexican sweet bread, and gorgeous scenery on the spectacular hikes around the area and if you’re ever in Maine, Try the Lobsters!!

Thanks for following along and enjoying our trips with us.. stay tuned for my visit to a special hotel near Portland Oregon 🙂
