Welcome Home!! The Pacific Northwest, a photographers delight by Mainechica

It was so exciting to hear those words!! Welcome home!! Our six day adventure begins!! It started in Boston at Logan airport and we arrived in Seattle, Washington 5hrs 45mins later!! The next part of our trip was by car driving to Hillsboro, Oregon and taking us to Yakima Washington then Cashmere WA then Back again to Seattle, Washington!! On our trip we so enjoyed seeing family and friends and driving throughout Washington and Oregon enjoying the breathtaking views of the diverse landscape!! I sure miss seeing the landscape here!!  Our trip took us to see majestic mountains, some towering over the valley’s and hills!! We also drove along the beautiful Columbia river, went thru mountain passes and bridges!! These landscape pictures gives you an idea of what lies here for you when you travel to the Pacific Northwest!!

Our drive began in Seattle Washington where we drove to Hillsboro Oregon near Portland Oregon! We saw a lot of trees!!!! When we stopped at a rest area we were up close to these towering trees!! Here’s a picture of one and it almost looked like a giant redwoods, but not sure what type this was. I guess they could just be very very old trees!!

Next; The Columbia River Highway; from Portland Oregon to Yakima Washington!! Such a beautiful drive along the Columbia river, picturesque landscapes!! As you can see this is more desert like intermixed with trees as you start out and after you reach Goldendale you will be driving thru some wooded areas, and reservation land and more desert type scenery!! Tumbleweed included, it really looks like the Wild West!! For some people this is so unique, when my husband first visited me when I lived out here he was very impressed with the large rolling hills and Tumbleweed!!
