Why get ready for fishing season & a smoked chicken dinner with amazing veggies!!

Are you ready for fishing season? Have you bought your fishing license yet?? Its a wonderful time of year to prepare for fishing!! Its so wonderful now that the ice is completely gone and the water is completely open & 🙂

I had no idea you had to prep for this  but thanks to our fishing friend we’re learning these little tricks & traditions!!  How do you prep? Well it involves things like sharpening your hooks that  have been used before!!! Hmm makes sense?? Cleaning out your tackle box, cleaning out and sharpening lures, and changing & fixing fishing lines on your pole!! Do all this ahead of time So that when you’re ready to go fishing, your pole & tackle box and gear will be available to catch the “big one”!!

As you know every job, and every time a friend stops in, it calls For a meal!! So while the boys including our fishing buddy took care of the fishing gear I totally threw something together!! It was a hit with the boys!! Smoked chicken thighs cooked on the smoker, garlic jasmine rice, lentils & smoked cabbage & green beans!! Delicious!! I made sure to buy range free chicken without added hormones 🙂 The cabbage and green beans were drizzled with olive oil & garlic, then seasoned with salt 🙂 enjoy!!

So we had a pleasant time with our fishing friend, got a little work done & had a yummy meal!!
