Maine Maple Weekend, a Spring time tradition!!

Ahhh Spring!! Isn’t it such a beautiful time of the year?? Well here in Maine it’s a nice time of the year where you start to see pops of color, like croquet’s & bulbs coming out of the ground!   Then there’s a tradition the last weekend of March, Maine Maple weekend that also signifies the beginning of spring!! Yaas!!! (We’ll omit that it’s also mud season-hahah-I didn’t know there was a such thing until I moved to Maine)

Where do you like to go for your special Maple Syrup  weekend?? Some places have a special breakfast, tasting, demonstrations, & special activities & special  menu!!
This year we were late to the demonstrations but had donuts at Ricker Hill, & Ice cream with Maple syrup in Minot!!

Here are some pics from this year, last year & pics of past years fun!!

So even though the occasion has past, Maple syrup is found everywhere!! It is fun to bake with, it’s used as a replacement for sugar in baking recipes & I’ve even found a Maple flavored bourbon , Yumm!!
